Ash gourd, also known as winter melon, is low in calories and high in water and fiber. It’s commonly used in a variety of dishes, including soups, curries, and desserts, especially in Asian cuisine, where it’s appreciated for its cooling properties and ability to absorb other flavors. The taste is mild and delicate, making it an excellent choice for beverages as well.

Refreshingly Healthy: Ash Gourd and Cucumber Drink
Ingredients
- 1 cup ash gourd cubes
- 1/2 cup cucumber cubes
- A few mint leaves
- a pinch of ginger powder
- A pinch of black pepper powder
- Water as required
- lemon juice
Instructions
- Add ash gourd cubes, cucumber cubes, mint leaves, ginger powder, black pepper powder, and water to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add lemon juice and serve. Enjoy!

Notes
- You can strain the juice if you’d like to remove small chunks (if any) after blending. However, I enjoy the juice without straining to get all the goodness of fiber.
- Use chilled water to blend if you prefer or just add juice cubes before serving.
