Buttered Corn

Buttered Corn

Buttered Corn is a simple and delicious snack made with American sweet corn, salt, butter, and crushed black pepper. This delightful dish is not only a perfect healthy evening snack or a side dish for a meal, but it also brings a burst of flavor to any gathering or dinner table.

Popularly known as butter-salt corn in Bengaluru, this delicious evening snack is made with steamed/boiled American sweet corn, salt and a generous amount of butter. But I prefer sautéing the corn instead of steaming/boiling and adding a dash of crushed black pepper for some heat. Whether enjoyed at a summer barbecue, as part of a cozy family dinner, or as an appetizer for a festive celebration, buttered corn never fails to impress with its simple yet irresistible taste.

Ingredients:

2 large corn cobs (remove kernels using a knife)
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Pink Himalayan salt
Crushed black pepper or black pepper powder to taste

Instructions:
  1. Heat a saucepan on medium heat.
  2. Add butter and allow it to melt.
  3. Transfer corn kernels to the pan, and sauté for 2 minutes on medium-low heat.
  4. Add salt and crushed black pepper to taste, mix, and sauté for another minute.
  5. Serve delicious buttered corn right away. Enjoy!
