The air fryer spicy cauliflower is a great evening snack on any day. It’s well-seasoned and delicious. It’s also one of my family’s favorite go-to evening snacks apart from the air fryer potato wedges, of course! If you haven’t checked the recipe for it, click here.
Making the air fryer spicy cauliflower is simple – it requires preparing a batter of flour plus powdered spices, then coating the florets with it and air frying them. In this recipe, I have used fewer ingredients. But you could add garlic powder and some garam masala to elevate the flavors. Continue reading to know how to make the air fryer spicy cauliflower step-by-step.

Cook time: 20 minutes

Yield: 2-3 servings
Florets of 1 small cauliflower
1 tablespoon of olive oil or cooking oil
2 tablespoons of gram flour
1 tablespoon of rice flour
1 teaspoon of red chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
2-3 tablespoons of water
Salt to taste
Soak cauli florets in water along with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder for 5 minutes. After that, rinse well and keep aside.
In to a mixing bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, black pepper powder and salt to taste and combine well. Then add a tablespoon or two of water gradually and make a thick, lump-less batter. Transfer the florets into the bowl and coat them well with the batter.
Preheat Air Fryer at 350F for 5 minutes.
Carefully place the battered florets into the basket and cook them at 350F for 10 minutes. Pause and toss once, then cook for another 5-6 minutes depending on how crispy you would like the spicy cauli florets to be. Turn off and enjoy with your favorite dip.
- Add spices to your taste and preference.
- Add half a teaspoon of garlic powder and garam masala each to the batter to elevate flavors.
- Ensure that the cauliflowers florets are of the same size(roughly) for even cooking.
